Every rich IVF patient naively assumes that the doctor they are going to is the best doctor in the world - often because they are the most expensive. After all, if they didn't think so, then they most probably wouldn't go to that doctor!
The problem is that it's impossible for every doctor to be the best doctor, and while some doctors are good, there are plenty more who are bad.
Unless patients invest in Information Therapy, their ability to differentiate between a good doctor and a poor doctor is very poor.
Just because your doctor refers you to a particular specialist, or because this specialist happens to be practicing in a fancy 5-star corporate hospital, or feature in many media channels, or has a great reputation in the community is actually no validation of his technical competence or experience or skills
Its easy to buy awards and be featured in the media by hiring a PR agency whose job is to ensure the doctor hogs the limelight! And the medical system today is so riddled with corruption because of the problem with kickbacks and commissions, that its hard to trust that your family doctor is actually referring you to the best doctor – or the one who gives him the biggest cut!
The good news its very easy for IVF patients to judge the skill of an IVF clinic. All you need to ask the receptionist ( before booking an appointment) is this simple question does the clinic routinely provides embryo photos to all their patients, and do you do only blastocyst transfers?
Any clinic which doest do so is a bad clinic, because they arent following global best practices, and choosing to hide information from their patients.
It doesnt matter how busy the clinic is, or how good the doctors bedside manner may be any
